In my opinion this is a good book. I liked this book because even though I would not read it for pleasure, I know I could use it for a kindergarten or Pre-K classroom. I liked this book because the illustrations enhance the story and tie in well to what is going on in the book. For example on page 5 it says "Mother Pig looks by the gate. She sees little lambs. but her little piglets are not there." In the illustration it shows the Mother Pig looking over the fence and two lambs on the other show more side, but not her piglets. I also enjoyed it pushes readers to think. In this story the Mother Pig is looking for her piglets and in order to do this, she must look everywhere. If I were to read this out loud I would be asking my students where they think the piglets would be. Therefore this could be an interacting book in a classroom. Even though there is no specific message of the story, I believe the big idea is to get readers to predict where they think the piglets are and why they would be there. show less
