The Gospel, not only the foundation of the Christian faith but also the continuance of it. It took me years before I learned this and even now it is a serious struggle to believe that the Gospel is there for me now to keep me from sinning and walking in the ways that God has set out before me. I used to believe that Jesus work on the cross saved me and then it was up to me to sanctify myself. I thought that I had to work hard and do all sorts of things to stay good with God. That led to show more nothing but misery and a deeper cycle of sin. Now that I know that nothing that I do contributes to my salvation I am free to trust and to do thinks that the Spirit asks me to without fear or condemnation. There was a quote from a different book that sums up what I have learned... "The only thing that you contribute to your salvation and sanctification, is the sin that makes those things necessary." I can do nothing on my own. I have nothing in me to bring. It is all Jesus and his righteousness. show less
This book wrecked me, in a good way. It is among the top 5 books I would recommend that every Christian read. We all need to be reminded daily of the gospel, which is not just for our initial salvation, but for our daily sanctification as well. Other reviewers offer good summaries of what the book includes. I will just say that this is a book intended to be read once, and then referenced as a daily devotional. It is outstanding.
I am going to be honest, this book is amazing, but I have the written version and struggled to read it. I listened to it as an audio book though and loved it! The gospel must be spoken to us as Christians just as much as anyone else. Worth your time to read (or listen) to it.
Summary: Vincent has produced a short but very useful tool to remind the believer of all of the blessings and benefits of the gospel for the purpose of our joy and sanctification.

Pros: This book is to the point. It is accomplishes its goal very well. The author has made a number of important yet fresh connections in the Bible concerning the gospel. It is intended to be a book that gets reread frequently. It challenges both the mind and the heart.

Cons:

Evaluation: This is a highly show more recommended book that inspires the believer to love God more deeply on the basis of His great salvation. It does not treat holiness just as a drudgery but as a loving response to the overwhelming love of God. It is fit for new and old believers. show less
