The book was indispensable to my learning and beating Bloodborne. Using the official guide approved by the company helped me with so much more insight than I would have had going into the game completely blind as I was to the style and genre. Overall, it felt good to set my mind to something I'd never done before and accomplish it.
A beguiling and unusual book for a beguiling and unusual game. As a consequence of its director's creative preferences, The Last Guardian produced little concept art and only six well-defined cut-scenes, so a conventional art book of paintings and storyboards was essentially impossible. Instead the bulk of this volume is filled with screen-shots of the actual sequence of the game, annotated and expanded upon with a wealth of intriguing marginalia. Paging through provides an opportunity to show more reflect on Guardian's strong sense of mood and very purposeful structure. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the presentation, both the well balanced layouts and the rich printing that accurately reproduces the balance of light, shadow, and colour of the game itself. show less
