An eccentric old man takes in a lodger.
Sometimes it seems to think of itself as more than just silly characters acting silly, which is very strange considering how silly it is (or, at least, how silly it is when it resigns itself to being silly). Anyways, Kevin Kline shouting ridiculous things: great. Paul Dano trying to discover himself: boring.

I remember discovering Robert Crumb about 25+ years ago and thinking his “art” was puerile and a bit grotesque. Here are “true” stories of one of his friends and writers, Harvey Pekar. It was enjoyable.

American Splendor
Berman, Shari Springer
HBO Video (2010), Edition: Special Edition
This is the bizarre story of a man who has a mediocre life and meets and immediately marries a strange women, I find it creepy and I will forever not like the main actor because he will always remind me of this weird artist he played I don't know why I just thought it was creepy
