Though you can't tell by my library, I have a big interest in forensics, and since I'm also interested in miniatures this seemed like a book tailor made for me. The miniatures were interesting, and the photography of them was well done. What kept this from being a four or five star book for me was the writing; there was nothing wrong with it, but it did not at all feel like what I was hoping for. I was hoping for descriptions of the scenes, discussion of the making of them, exploring the show more evidence shown, discussion of what you could conclude and that sort of thing.

Unfortunately for me, it wasn't done that way; instead of being written at all by the expert, it was written by someone else in a short story format. There were some glaring errors in certain details of stories that took me right out of them, and overall I felt that the book could have been tighter. It wasn't absolutely horrible, but it certainly wasn't something I'll read again, so I gave it a three. show less

This book gives us 6 dollhouse scenarios, with many color glossy photos to depict the crime and graphic details of the victim, and takes us through the show more process of collecting evidence and samples, and explains how they reach their conclusions. It's easy to follow and intriguing.
