A wonderful, suspenseful romance. It keeps you guessing until the very end.

The book is somewhat thin, so I was sure to gobble it down in an afternoon. Don't let size fool ya! Normally, I can skim through a romance book pretty quickly. It's because of so much mindless description. Not here. This one was edited down to don't-miss-a-word or you'll miss something important. Love it!

Anyway, here are some highlights about the book:

After the tragedy in her childhood that burned her home and killed her parents, Ethereal "Lark" Blackwell could no longer speak. Orphaned, she goes to live with her father's best friend, Lord Somerset, who becomes her mentor. She learns sign language to communicate with her, but doesn't step beyond the boundaries of Somerset house.

Years Later...

When Jonathan Rexley's father dies, he becomes the new Lord of Somerset and is appalled to learn he has inherited a bride with his father's estate. Lark was told by Lord Peter, Jonathan's father, Jonathon knew and approved of this arrangement. When she discovers his feelings, she is hurt and refuses to marry him.

As the attraction between them blossom, the mystery about her past intensifies. The closer Jonathon digs for the truth, the closer Lark is to danger. Readers will not find out about the secrecy that surrounds Lark and the night that took her parents until the end; and wow, what an ending it is!

What I loved most about this book? The mystery surrounding Lark stands out the most. Oh, and I also loved the ending. There are really great books out there with a horrible ending. This one didn't disappoint.

What I liked least? Nothing. Okay, sure, I'd like to see more of the book, but then there would have been that mindless description. I can't say I'd want to see anything in the book to change. Love it!
