It's a shame I'll never have kids to read this book to. But it will definitely be a go-to gift in the future. Loved it. And I don't really like children's books all that much.

A tired father takes only a few sentences to tell a number of classic tales in order to get the persistent listener to fall asleep.

I totally get this book, from the father's point of view. And I'm not even a father. How many stories does it take to exhaust a child? Too many for the father to stay awake for in some cases. Great book. Very funny. Very satisfying.

Every night this child would not go to sleep. He or she wanted "just one more story", but the father was so tired. He decided that he was going to make the stories shorter and change them up a little. He began to add verse that said something about go to sleep. Then finally he and his child fell asleep. This is a great book to read to children right before naptime. For older students its great to show when teaching about writing short stories.
