Despite the title, this isn't a self help book, but an honest self-examination of the author's life long struggle with mental health issues. In this memoir, David is unflinching in his personal account of battling anxiety and depression, through adolescence and into his early twenties. His raw and painful journey had me in tears at time, but the brief nuggets at the end on his hard won happiness were unexpected and real. Plenty of 'aha' moments in here for those who have struggled with these issues themselves, or have family and friends facing similar trials.
