I really enjoyed this Young Adult book on Henry VIII written from his point of view. I think it is the first Tudor novel that I have read and I have read quite a few that are told from Henry's viewpoint, usually it is from one of his wives. I would have liked a little more detail, certain parts seemed skimmed through but I appreciate this is probably due to the target audience and not the writer's ability. I will certainly read further books by this author.

Solid historical fiction with a fresh look at Henry VIII's younger years. Well written and engaging, with Hal at the center of a dangerous and power-focused court.

I have no idea how I acquired this book but I almost certainly would never have bought it in a book shop. It reads ok although it tends to get somewhat repetitive. It's a basic and simple story and I've just noticed today that it's a YA/crossover book which would account perhaps for that. As the rating says "ok". Just that.
