Wow! This is an amazing book! It's full of suspense and intrigue! The story kept me guessing about who the perpetrator was, and I was shocked!

The characters are wonderful; relatable and easy to like! Renae is a hero! She's a protector, and she's committed to her job. She's fierce and loyal! Clark is AMAZING! He's also a protector. He has courage and puts his life on the line.

I enjoyed the romance aspect of the book very much! Renae and Clark are convinced that love is not for them, but they open their hearts to each other.

I definitely recommend this book! It's intense, but there are heartwarming parts, too! I'll be reading more by this author for sure!!

I can honestly say the best part of this book was the last chapter.
I did not like most of it and had to re read several pages to try and figure out what exactly happened in certain scenes. Some parts of the storyline were rather rushed and a few things were explained away with a only a sentence or two. I think this story could have been fleshed out a bit more and I'm not talking about the sex scenes. I'm not a prude in any sense but those scenes were almost laughable and I started to roll my eyes when I got to one.… (more)

Fiona O'Brien has vowed never to date a man with a dangerous career while firefighter Wyatt Andrews has sworn off women who manipulate their partners into giving up the jobs they love. Can these two unlikely lovers find common ground?

A thoroughly delightful read. The title is very apt considering Fiona and Wyatt's scorching hot chemistry and sizzling banter.

Both Fiona and Wyatt are engaging characters and manage to avoid any unnecessary angst stemming from a lack of communication. Their conflict is resolved satisfactorily with very little angst.

My one caveat is the author's repeated description of Fiona as manipulative, which does not actually play out in the narrative. Fiona is honest and open about her plans, so the word choice is questionable.

Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Interesting and captivating Harlequin Nocturne about a couple (FBI Agent Alaina Paulsen and writer Trent Baines) who have been reincarnated as lovers throughout the years, but a murderer (who has also been reincarnated and obsessed with Alaina) keeps getting in the way.

This was a very fast and easy-to-read paranormal mystery. I liked Trent, who was sexy and mysterious. He was also an empath. He experienced the emotions of others. He also felt the murderer’s feelings and the victims’ feelings, which was taking its toll on him, so he lived far away in his own fortress-like home. Then he and Alaina met in this life and knew it was time to be together, and for them to try to catch the murderer. (Who, throughout the years loved Alaina, but she loved Trent, so the angry villain, knowing he would never win her love or her heart, would cut Alaina’s heart out so he would have it.) I also liked Alaina, who was a good heroine.

An entertaining story by Lisa Childs.
