Jade is constantly let down living in a town where people especially her friends are always leaving. Her solution is to create a best friend through her writing and Zoe is born. Through stories Jade and Zoe have a perfect relationship until one day a new girl appears who is Zoe in every way. Jade is dealing with her father having cancer and finds out some truths about friends she didn’t even know she had. Author Abby Cooper handles each character’s personality beautifully and the writing captures middle school emotions.… (more)

Abby Cooper has a way of storytelling that reminds you of the adolescent you. So real, so rich, so tender. A must read for fourth grades and up!… (more)
