Written by Alan Cowsill and Illustrated by Lalit Kumar Sharma, World War One takes readers on a journey through the war to end all wars. Following a sequence of actual British soldiers, the award-winning graphic novel uses dark humor and vivid illustrations to bring World War 1 to life. As a veteran, I admire sneaky humor. As a teacher, I appreciate the book's focus on causes of the war, inhumanity of battle, technological advances, and scope of a war laden with lessons for the world to remember. this is the best marvel character guide i have found so far. it lists the characters in alphabetical order and gives you a quick run down of each. i like that they make connections on them as well, but the back bios? i think you have to kind of know the characters because if i was seeing one for the first time it's incredibly vague.
