It is Christmas 2010 and a severe storm cuts off the village of Castle Farthing where DI Harry Falconer has agreed to spend the holiday with DS Davey Carmicheal and his family. When a body is found in the church of St Cuthberts.
I think this book was meant to be amusing/funny but I didn't find so.

The story was relatively okay - but I am not a fan of short stories. Here D.I. Falconer and DS Carmichael grapple with a poisoning and swiftly find the murderer.

A fairly mediocre story featuring D. I. Falconer and Carmichael solving a double murder in their usual style.

A weak entry in a humorous British mystery series that centers on a different small village in each book.
The plot and the characters seemed like a repetition of the first three books, the jokes are getting less and less funny, and I’m considering abandoning the whole thing. Too bad, too, because initially the author sowed a lot of promise.
Maybe I’ll try one more.
