While this book does a good job of getting into the details of how to make something happen in politics, I was a bit put off by the fact that ALL of the "expert boxes" were written by whites. At least there was a mix of men and women, but there was very little diversity in any other way. Some of the case studies included nonwhites and there was one case study about efforts to stop a homophobic set of policies, but I felt like this book was missing some voices I would have liked to hear from. That being said, I would pass this book on to others who are interested in how the government can work. It was dry and took a while to read, but I think I learned a lot.… (more)
