Not my cup of tea. In spite of the “paranormal detective “ in the name, nothing paranormal in this book at all. I knew what was going on in the case in the first chapter. Did not appreciate the stereotypical black female character, eyes bugging and eating buckets of fried chicken. Way too much dialog about dicks and hoos hoos for my taste. Hard pass on any more

Ok I didn’t realize this was part of the Blue Moon Investigations series until now (2023). I stand by my original review however. These books could be so good; great concept good plots, but damn the constant nattering snouts boobs, „Mr Wriggly“, and hoo hoos.… (more)

I’m obviously the minority on these books but this particular one, aside from racism, sexism and the usual puerile behavior which is always there, he has set a new low of intelligence for the main character. I’m not all that bright myself but I had this one pretty well figured out within the first few pages

Not very well written. Cute idea and I like the characters, but kind of tedious to read.

The Phantom of Barker Mill: Blue Moon Investigations Book 2, my tenth read/listen from author Steve and my third in this series. Well written & enjoyable. Narrator Charles Peter Fullagar’s voice added to the listening enjoyment. I'm going to have to go backward & catch up as I'm reading books out of order because it's what I have. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
