In a small town in 1860's Montana, Charity enjoys spending her days in the surrounding woods. During her time in the woods, Charity befriends a large wolf called Sliver Slash. Life changes quickly for fourteen-year-old Charity as war hero Paul returns from the front and asks for Charity's hand in marriage. Charity soon learns that her husband's time fighting has created demons as he spends his time drinking, isolating Charity and separating her from the woods she loves. When Paul brings home show more a gun to shoot her beloved wolves, Charity runs for the woods. In the woods, she finds her friends and she is transformed into a new being, one with the wolves. Years later, one of Charity's pups finds the man from Charity's past and she tells the story of her transformation.

Wifwulf is a hybrid comic book with both your typical comic style, journal entries, extra artwork, and appendices. The story is written as new folklore and immediately transported. me to the woods. I could easily relate to Charity and her story's themes of rebirth, transformation and becoming your true self. The concept art and guest art that is added to the story in every frame and is intricately detailed, beckoning a second look. The story is quick and fast paced but hauntingly meaningful, leaving the reader to fill in missing blanks and draw their own conclusions. I would have loved to read so much more of Charity's story, but I also understand why it was this way. The section of journal entries helped to round out the story at the end. I was very appreciative of all the information in the Making Of section which helped to deepen my understanding. The added concept art is also a bonus, and I would seriously love to have art prints of many of those.

Okay but disposable stories about the original series of Star Trek. There's an overarching storyline about a diplomatic crisis with the aliens from the TV episode "The Tholian Web" due to Kirk taking aboard a Tholian child, the sole survivor of an unexplained massacre. But there are also side trips to other planets for a sequel to "A Piece of the Action" and a Klingon confrontation complicated by a communication breakdown due to an alien artifact.

I understand this is a nostalgia cash-in, but show more I think I would rather have the crew seeking out new life and new civilizations instead of going back over plowed ground. show less
Clayface is in Hollywood posing as a waiter and auditioning for the new Joker biopic, The Killing Joke. His "one bad day" comes when no one will agree with his artistic vision of the character, and he has to take it upon himself to make sure his version makes it to the screen.

This take seems influenced by the Harley Quinn animated TV show on HBO Max, and I can get behind that.
The characters are caricatures and often behave they way they to drive the plot in a certain direction rather than in a way that makes sense. But if you can get past that, there is enjoyment to be had with this fun space romp, reminiscent of space adventures like Cowboy Bebop.
