I love Denis Leary's blunt and to the point approach.....Imagine what the world would be like if everyone was just that honest!!!! We all think it and he just had the balls to say it!!!

I really wanted to like this book. I wanted something to make me laugh and I have a warped sense of humor and am not easily offended. This BOOK sucked. I think I chuckled two times in the entire book. He not only wasn't funny but showed mysoginy at its worst.

Tweets from Denis Leary, all in the format of headline in bold print, punchline in smaller print below. A couple of pretty funny, a couple are seriously offensive, but most of them are just kind of tired and repetitive. On the bright side, it takes maybe ten minutes to read at most.

Oh yeah, and this is about 2010, not 2020, so it's also really dated.

Basically, Denis' routine in writing, so the use of BOLD LETTERS to express his moments of shouting don't convey the energy and faux, but fun, anger of Leary's early stand-up.

I prefer to hear or see Denis in action. I think he was aiming for 'performance artist' status here by publishing his material a'la transcription, but it loses something in translation. This material requires Leary's attitude, voice, and manic energy to sell it. Skip the book, find the CD or DVD instead.
