I really enjoyed this. Mort is an interesting character and I really liked the writing style. The resolution read like a detective story written by V.C. Andrews, which was a little off-putting for me. Overall, a good read. I'd pick up another one by this author.

Hilarious! The publisher's blurb is a pretty good start, but it gets more convoluted and ROFL with each page. No erotica but funny innuendos, and Mort is a heavy drinker of. ..noncaf soda. The mystery revolves around a satire on the IRS with guest appearances by a couple of cartoonish FBI agents and other caricatures. The dialog is fun, the characters certainly are, and it has a real plot! Loved it!
Louis B Jack is fantastically believable as Mort who is both character and narrator in a low key, tongue in cheek way.
I won this audiobook in a giveaway!
I really win!

Okay yea I really wanted to like this book. First of all, I didn't realize it was part of a series and this is the second book in the series. I HATE going into a book series not with the first one, but I thought I would give it a whirl because maybe it would be a good standalone. Nope, nada. I did not like the main character at all. Like oh there's these pretty women and I'm flirting with them when I should be doing my job and there's a dead man hanging in their garage? Rolls eyes. As a fan of Kinsey Malone, this P.I. fell flat for me and I only made it to page 46! Yup cannot continue reading it or finishing it. Sending it off to greener pastures.… (more)

This was a fun book, having read Sam Spade books I enjoyed PI Mort. His relationship with Lucy was hysterical but oddly believable.
Very easy reading. The plot was just twisted enough to keep you interested.
