Osgood Hanbury MacKenzie (1842–1922)

An amazing glimpse into the past where lives were totally different to what we live now.

Written by Osgood Hanbury Mackenzie it follows his life from birth in Brittany to life to the Scottish Highlands.

Despite being written in 1921 it's easy to read, contained within are details of a life which no one really lives anymore. For example, they did not even use the wheel as there were no roads, instead they used sleds.

Especially of interest to me was the documentation of Osgood's travels, hunting & gardening.
