As I was reading it, this seemed like a pretty good book. It wasn’t great, but some of it was entertaining and I think, in spite of the other ratings for this book, I might’ve given it 4 stars, or at least said it was a 3.5 star read. But oh my god, what was that ending? Seriously, what in the world was that? It definitely was not how I thought this book would end— and I don’t mean that in a good way. Just because of that, I don’t even think I can say this was a 3.5 star read. My rating now would be a 2.5 or 3. Honestly, if you’ve got this book on your tbr, just go ahead and skip it. I don’t hate this book, but I also don’t think it’s worth your time. There are way better books to read.… (more)

Silly book about a girl from the 80's who time travels to the present day and finds herself in a totally different social situation. She's now one of the popular people and discovers she doesn't really like herself and sets out to change things. And get her best friend, Jonah, back. I do think this one will definitely feel very dated in a few years as it names drops many current day celebrities.

Sophie is 16-years old and is on a “pause” from her boyfriend of three years, Michael. It's spring break and Sophie is heading to Florida to see her grandmother. On the plane, she sits beside a really hot bad boy, who likes to break the rules. Straight-laced Sophie decides she needs to change who she is anyway, and quickly falls for Jack. But, is he really who she wants?

This was another cute, YA chick-lit-y book by Palmer. The first few pages reminded me how funny her books can be. There is a lot of teen angst in this one, but I thought it was a fun, fast read.… (more)

So Simone accidentally changes her life because she can't really say no to people and she ends up in a Zumba class, and then back in it, and before she knows it she's eating veggies instead of snack cakes. Her best friend convinces her that it's finally time to have that makeover and suddenly she finds herself becoming on the outside something more like the person she's always been. Now she's got boys following her around a jealous stepmom (although it seemed like the stepmom was jealous before this). The thing is that this is the second fairy tale retelling in a row I've read where the protagonist obviously goes for the wrong guy. It doesn't matter if they're hot, if they don't share interests with you, find someone else. Still, I had fun watching her transform herself.… (more)
