Love the fact that he gets the Pagan aspects right for a change. It's a refreshing change from most of the witchy trash out there that's written because witches are the in flavour of cozy mystery at the moment

It feels stream-of-consciousness. Maybe it's a pacing issue. Everything happens in a babble of words. Useful exposition, but high volume.
Also, the historical bits were poorly researched. Stalin wouldn't have been in a position to take power if a theocracy was running Russia until 1940. You can't simply slap new history on top of old history without making it work.
Finally, just because it's amusing doesn't mean it should be in the book.

Born a Witch...Drafted by the FBI! (The Federal Witch, #0) by T.S. Paul is a cute prequel about a teen witch and her many mess ups. But out of the blue, she is drafted to go to the FBI. She has a familiar that is a mini unicorn that hates cats. It is a cute short story that leads the reader up til she gets to the Academy. Sounds like it might be a cute teen series.
