Based on the Peters projection which uses the principle of equality of scale and area, this family edition includes the changes in East and West Germany. It uses satellite imaging and computer cartography to ensure accuracy and includes a section of 246 thematic maps. There are 43 maps which make up the Peters projection and the whole world is shown at the same scale, unlike many atlases which have a European bias.
