When Richard, Nina, and Richard's two children, Daniel and Charlie, move in next door, they start to worm their way into Amy's life, slowly letting her know that there are ways to let go and to let others in. The issue of hoarding is central to The Missing Treasures of Amy Ashton by Eleanor Ray.. Yet, it does not appear to be given the depth and challenge that the issue deserves. Somehow, through it all, Amy herself fails to develop into a sympathetic character, perhaps because of the two-timeline approach to the storytelling. Sadly, much as I want to like Amy and her story, I was not the right reader for this book.
