1857 Conscience Place A Novel by Joyce Thompson (read 6 Jul 1984) This novel is an account of a colony of mutants who are invaded by the scientists who want to carry on experiments with them. Some of the sex scenes are gross and distasteful. The scheme is arbitrarily worked out--the mutants knew some things and not others, with little rational relationship. I, frankly, found the book uncomfortable to read and I am glad I am done reading it.
