About the Author

Gerald Vann, OP (1906 - 1963) was a school teacher in England when this work was first published. Influenced by Maritain's "integral humanism," he became an able and sympathetic exponent of the ancient sanity of Christian wisdom and spelled it out in forthright and often elegant terms.
