It was interesting to read a book set in the Amazon, and I had no idea these people moved twice a year around the floods. I would have liked more details and more of an in-depth view.

My 5-year-old loves it! The anaconda and the tortoise really draws his attention. He reads it over and over and over. We also learn a lot about how a group of people live in the Amazon rainforest.

This book is geared towards younger elementary students.

This book is about a family who lives along the Amazon River. When the rainy seasons come, the family has to pack up their house and move to another house that has to be built more inland. The book shows how this family and their community lives and about their pets, family and friends.

I would use this book to teach about South America and how other cultures live.

I think this book would be good for upper elementary because of the adventure that takes place. It brings forward intense situations that people live through every day and experience where they live. In this care, the Amazon river is home to many but also a huge problem for houses, schools, and churches.
