Amber Reeves became a prominent debater while at Cambridge University, and in 1906 she co-founded the Cambridge University Fabian Society as a venue for women to meet and discuss important issues of the day with men as equals. She had an affair with H.G. Wells that produced a child before marrying George Rivers Blanco White. In addition to her activism and her writings, she worked in government and taught college classes.
