Description
Arius (c. 250-c. 336): An early Christian presbyter, known for his part in theological controversies in Alexandria. Arius became convinced that God the Son was inferior to God the Father. This doctrine became known as Arianism, and although Arius himself played a relatively small role in the Arian controversy, the theological question would split the church for centuries.
