People/Characters Kato

1.) Kato was the name of a Japanese manservant and confidant working for Hannah Elias in her Park Avenue mansion, purchased for her by her long-time lover, John R. Platt, a wealthy white manufacturer of plate glass. Kato and Elias seem to have been very close, and he supported her through her trials when her affair with John R. Platt became an open scandal (especially to his family) Kato apparently stayed with Elias for the rest of her life, moving with her to Europe. It is not definitely know what became of either of them.
