Description
Sam Bass (1851?-1878). Outlaw and train robber. Mortally wounded in a shootout with police on July 20, 1878, he died in custody two days later. He became the subject of a famous song, "Sam Bass," item E4 in Malcolm Law's catalog of Native American Ballads.
