- I have retired and I now live in Henderson, Nv. I had to give away most of my books prior to moving here from New York, but I am beginning to build a new book collection. I write book reviews for Amazon Vine. I also award a $100 prize each year to the author of the book I most enjoyed during the year. I make these awards through my website which is listed below. I think more people should do this. Send $100 to an author who has really "made your day." In 2014 my award goes to S.P.Daley for "Welcome To The Divide." I may be the only person who has read this book but I don't care. Previously I have made cash awards to authors you have probably heard of, like Michel Houellebecq and Iain McGilchrist. And I am not rich. But these authors have enriched me with their writing; and I shall continue making my book of the year awards.
