My library reflects long interests in memoir, natural history, South Texas, science, nature photography, writing, and regional storytelling. I am especially drawn to literary fiction that is honest about difficult lives and complicated places. My reading interests are wide-ranging and include many nonfiction works as well.

I am a South Texas writer with long interests in memoir, natural history, regional storytelling, and the complicated ways people shape one another’s lives. Much of my writing grows out of place, memory, hardship, and the natural world. In addition to writing, I enjoy nature photography and helping organize the Bee County Writers Group. My most recent book is the memoir A Small Tree in a Texas Hurricane.
