About Me
SHORT VERSION:
Was a game designer/programmer at LucasArts in the early years, now an iOS children's app developer (using Corona SDK) and eco tech geek. Follow our G+ Electric Eggplant page.

LONG VERSION:
I've been involved with new media and technology since my wife, Annie, and I co-founded the world's first public-access microcomputer center in 1977. Marin Computer Center was a prototype for bringing new technology to the public.

I co-authored the books Computer Animation Primer, Armchair BASIC, and Pascal Primer, and then in 1982 became one of the founding members of the Games Division at Lucasfilm Ltd. (now LucasArts Entertainment Company). During my 10 years with LucasArts, I was the designer, project leader, and one of the programmers for the games Rescue on Fractalus!, Labyrinth, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure. I also worked on Maniac Mansion as the primary script programmer.

During my last two years at LucasArts David was Manager of Entertainment Software on Mirage (a collaboration between LucasArts and Hughes Aircraft Corporation). This multi-player, networked location-based entertainment system was intended for theme parks.

After leaving LucasArts, we launched Electric Eggplant to continue working on multimedia projects. In 2010, we began creating story apps for iOS and Android devices. We have 2 apps on iOS, NOOK Color/Tablet and Kindle Fire: Middle School Confidential 1: Be Confident in Who You Are and Middle School Confidential 2: Real Friends vs. the Other Kind. We also produced our first iBook, Are You My Friend? for 4-8 year olds.

When not playing with computers I enjoy science fiction, good films, photography, video making, and taking long walks with Annie through the hills of Marin County, California. We have two grown kids.
