- About My Library
- The bulk of my library (probably 80% or more) was purchased in the last 10 years, before which I had very little money for books and mostly relied on libraries for my research. I still have access to the University of Chicago library, where I worked for five years, but I can't get there very often, so I've built up a library for my day-to-day research needs while also indulging my other interests. These include (but are not limited to) politics, the U.S. Supreme Court, baseball, and popular music/jazz from the first half of the 20th century (and the tail end of the 19th). My book collection would probably be larger if I didn't also collect advertising ephemera from the late 19th and early 20th century -- mostly trade cards and tobacco cards, of which I have several thousand each.
- About Me
- I live in Chicago, where I make my living as a mutual fund analyst and in my spare time pursue research in Shakespeare, Elizabethan theater history, and the history and economics of London in the medieval and early modern periods.
