About Me

Dr. Wesley C. McCarter (ProgressAndJoy.org) is Pastor of the Rural Hall Christian Church near Winston-Salem, NC and has served on theological faculties since 2015. He and his wife, Bridget, are raising two daughters. Raised in a Christian family, Wesley was baptized at the age of twelve. He pursued undergraduate studies leading to the B.A. in Biblical Studies and Christian Education and graduate studies leading to the M.A. in Biblical Studies and the D.Min. in Biblical Preaching. He completed a Ph.D. in Theology (New Testament) with the North-West University in 2024. Wesley enjoys spending time with his family, visiting the mountains and beaches of NC, training in jiu-jitsu, and eating fried rice.
