About Me

This is the parish library of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Our parish library has served the community for many years and holds approximately 2,600 books, primarily in Russian, with a portion in English. The collection focuses on Orthodox Christianity and includes works on Church history, theology, patristics, apologetics, Russian culture, family life, marriage, the lives of the Saints, biblical commentaries, asceticism, canon law, and more. We also maintain a small selection of children’s books and educational materials used by Sunday School teachers. Additionally, the library houses a non-circulating collection of rare and historical books, currently in storage, which will be featured in a future museum display.
