A stunning ending to this Egyptian duology. Inez has decided she must find her mother to face the punishment of what she has done. Our daring and still optimistic FMC must face betrayal, grief, twists, turns, and decide who her family will be all while trying to find her mother, free her uncle, and avoid death. You never know where her decisions will take her in this wild tale. It is fade to black with some language.
Have your tissues ready. I was emotionally raw when reading this book. Character development was stellar and there was little spice. Thematically brilliant.
No spice. Endearing love story. Took one star since it didn’t feel very unique, but I still cried, mourned, and celebrated and fell wholly for the characters. It was a good short read and refreshing from my typical reads.
Jaw dropping, speechless plot twists. I had to put the book down and come back because I couldn’t handle it. Christy is one of the most talented writers I have ever experienced.
Incredible no spice dark fantasy. I loved this book and waited anxiously for each and every subsequent book to release after it. I was hooked from the very beginning. The ending may have ended me. Wish I could go back and read it again for the first time again and shatter my heart again just to experience Christy’s incredible style again. This book completely changed my perspective on fantasy.
I wasn’t ready for this book to end. The end of a brilliant series. I cried having to close this book, it felt like an end of an era in my life. Christy has taken chaos and hurt and pain and betrayal and turned into a satisfying ending. The epilogue wasn’t my favorite, I could’ve almost done without it, but also couldn’t.
This book begins to provide closure for what she did in the first two books and ties every crazy detail into a more beautiful story than I thought possible.
I appreciated this back story as a read after the series prequel. I would’ve loved to look deeper into the reclusive country of Dalendria, but it did my heart good to read this after the havoc the series did to me.
I loved the intricacy of this book yet the simplicity of it as well. No spice and a unique perspective on Christ. I can’t wait to read the next book.
No spice. Good story line, but overhyped in my opinion. Still good but I won’t be raving about it. Unique storyline and characters. I did enjoy the one of a kind world the author created.
DNF It wanted to be good. I wanted to enjoy it, but there was too much going on and too many POVs involved in one book. There was too much that wasn’t explained. I made it 40% through and still had no idea what was going on most of the time. There was no connection or overlap between characters. I couldn’t finish it. Bookstagram really let me down on this one.
I think I liked this book better than the first 4.5 stars. No spice which is great. The FMC arc is stellar.
No Spice some innuendos but that’s it. The book did surprise me a little bit but the build up was kind of lost on me. There’s more to the series but I think I will forget it before I get the chance to finish it. I did not enjoy the immediately physical nature of the romance.
A unique story line of an unwanted throne foisted on the unsuspecting FMC. Declared a fugitive until she makes an attempt to take the throne, she will fight for her life either way. The plot twist were unexpected. I took half a star off because I think I would’ve preferred more of a slow burn. NO spice.
I enjoyed this no spice fantasy storyline. There were some innuendos and minor cussing. I think my ebook needed some more proofing because I had some typos and format issues. The characters were decent and I like the half slow burn. I think with some more proofing the writing would have felt smoother and the book more immersive. The names of everything were cool, but I got distracted trying to sound them out.
Think Repunzel and Mulan and Robin Hood with a touch of Narnia add the fact that it’s no spice with just some kissing and you will have this book. The feisty yet caring FMC has fantastic chemistry with both MMCs I don’t know what was going to happen or even what I wanted to happen until the end. I read this book in a day because I could not put it down.
Heartwarming…wrenching…stopping all of it. The characters all move together seamlessly. You can cut the emotion with a spoon. This no spice book keeps you wondering what will happen until the very end. I love the subplot of romance and the plot driven style.
I love the exotic but genteel quality of the characters meeting. I enjoyed the characters and how sweet each one is. The growth in each person and the absurdity of the entire situation is entirely brilliant. This is definitely one of those books that makes you fall in love without spice and without steamy details.
This danger fraught story of two twin half witches was unexpected. The details and world building and sister bond kept the plot moving and balance between the light and dark scenes. The twist wasn’t one I was expecting at all. My jaw actually dropped and I needed more information!
It is a no spice fade to black with more suspense than violence throughout. This is the first book though so I’m anxious to see what action we unlock next!

This no spice off-the-beaten path fantasy is set on earth, but it isn't just earth there's another world out there that none of us know about and these friends are about to find out about it. I absolutely loved everything about it. From the book appearance to the setting to the characters to the plot, this book will leave you guessing and hoping for more every step of the way.
DNF warning. I actually truly enjoyed the thought process behind the book. The plot and the inspiration from Beauty and the Beast was incredible. I DNFd because of a very minor detail that has no relevance to the plot and is solely based off of personal convictions. There is a side character in an unnatural relationship. If this minor detail hadn’t existed I would’ve given a much higher rating and I probably would’ve raved about it. As it stands I cannot recommend this book. That being said as far as I got it was no spice.
It's historical and it's fantasy and it's beautiful. Wrought with riddles and puzzles, twist and turns, this book has you on edge right up to startling cliffhanger. The FMC goes from playing it safe to someone who takes risk to get what needs to be done done. The MMC is dark and mysterious and quietly heroic. He knows the identity of the man who can help her find her kidnapped father, but what will both of them have to go through to get the answers they want? Highly recommend this no spice (light kissing) book for anyone looking for something a little different from the typical fantasy.
Dark and morally grey characters always fascinate me. The FMC goes from unwanted and orphaned to wanted and threatened by her family. The MC is on the verge of overtaking the underworld. It was a mite too steamy for my taste, but no techinically no spice, but some very suggestive scenes.
This is a unique story where magic only exists in one country…supposedly. An unlikely trio work together against numerous unknown threats to free one country from a centuries old curse, but to do so they must sacrifice everything to the Fates. A fade to black no spice fantasy with no cussing. Both MCs are strong and have wonderful chemistry. I definitely got swept away.
I struggled to like this book since I feel a majority of the plot points could’ve been avoided had the characters communicated properly and not made absurd assumptions about each other. The biggest twist was only partially shocking but really just sad and tragic. The writing was solid and kept your heart racing.
It does state that intimacy is done within a marriage but nothing is described past the fact that it happened. So relatively no spice.

I loved this through and through. Better than Narnia this revision of Christ was wonderful. The symbolism and truth weaved into this story will definitely have me coming back.
I enjoyed this book. The characters are sweet and everything a follower of Christ should be. I enjoyed seeing a take on the lives of two people who we know little about, but were clearly important enough to be in the Bible. The show of forgiveness throughout this book is a good lesson to remember.
The writing in this book is emotional and allows you to get fully into the tale she tells. The characters are confusing and frustrating and endearing in turns and I kept coming back for more. I can’t say any of this was unexpected. I wasn’t a fan of certain plot points, but I understand where that they most were necessary. It is a fade to black no spice book which I always enjoy.
I’m interested to see where this series goes. It’s subtly woke which I didn’t care for, but decent as storylines go. The basis of this fantastical world I don’t personally agree with, but the writing does command attention. And the characters have good chemistry. The ending was not entirely unexpected but abnormal to say the least. It was no spice and minimal swearing.
The hopeless desperation for freedom. The aching need to heal. The irresistible allure to love. The undercurrent of long hidden secrets. Reading this book you will find yourself as captive as the characters. No spice and filled to the brim with twists and turns, death and love, and world shattering power. Will probably reread in the future.
