I wasn’t ready for this book to end. The end of a brilliant series. I cried having to close this book, it felt like an end of an era in my life. Christy has taken chaos and hurt and pain and betrayal and turned into a satisfying ending. The epilogue wasn’t my favorite, I could’ve almost done without it, but also couldn’t.

Incredible no spice dark fantasy. I loved this book and waited anxiously for each and every subsequent book to release after it. I was hooked from the very beginning. The ending may have ended me. Wish I could go back and read it again for the first time again and shatter my heart again just to experience Christy’s incredible style again. This book completely changed my perspective on fantasy.

I appreciated this back story as a read after the series prequel. I would’ve loved to look deeper into the reclusive country of Dalendria, but it did my heart good to read this after the havoc the series did to me.

“The Blood vier,” by Christy R. Harill

When she finally can leave her life behind Taryn starts to travel away from her hometown until a man tracks her down revealing that the father who abandoned her was murdered. She strikes a deal with the man to go to the kingdoms capital where she thrusted into a political game that she has no choice but to play.

I loved this book. It was interesting and I did not get bored while reading at all. There is more political intrigue than anything else and show more so much action. I cannot wait for book 2. 5 out of 5 stars.
