When I first heard this as an LP I wore it out. These secular "folk" songs from the late Middle Ages in Germany are hard to resist. A typical lyric: "I went to see my little duckie at midnight. I heard a loud noise and hid behind the oven." Binkley was the genius behind the Early Music Quartet, reflecting a greater understanding of the influence of Arabaic music on Europe via the Iberian peninsula.
Rare blues and blues like recordings made on prison farms, in make shift studios and from the race record market. Is "I got an ice cold Nu-grape" by the Nu-grape Twins a blues? I don't think quite, but is addictive as is their City of Mansions
