A detailed account of Collins, the type of man he was, what he believed in, and what he did. Not the easiest book to read as it is loaded with dates, names and organisations, but a must read for anyone who claims Collins to be one of their heroes.
A great guide to making ethical purchasing decisions, in a well designed package. I will be sending a copy to each of my siblings to help them make informed consumer decisions. Great book.
It was good to get a bit of an insight into Woz and how he got to where he is today. An easy read that was written in a light cheery manner. I enjoyed it.
How this book won a booker prize is beyond me. Repetitive happenings, uninteresting characters, little emotion, and it generalizes old people as horrible and petty.
I was disappointed with this book as it did little to rekindle the feeling I had while reading the secret diary when it was published.
The book is semi-structured and it definitely doesn't fall into the diary category though it is time lined.

Solo by Jack Higgins
Solo is a quick paced tale of revenge, politics, and espionage. It is the story of how an ex-SAS solider seeks revenge for the death of his daughter, who was unfortunately killed during a political assassination.
The characters are formed almost completely by their introduction, and thus their subsequent actions do not evoke surprise, in fact you can predict them.
There is nothing extraordinary about the book as the story is too neat, but it was a pleasant way to pass some time.
