One of my favourite books, this satirical war novel does it's part of portraying the absurdity of war and the way it's conducted while making one laugh and sigh.
Tragically funny or funny and tragic? Maybe a bit of both.

Very funny, Richler is his characteristic acerbic best as he slices through fiction and current events with equal dismissiveness.
