I thoroughly enjoyed this cozy mystery. The story takes place at a boat club. As a sailor and a teacher myself I could relate to the main character. Kind of refreshing that the romance didn’t involve the detective as it so often does. I liked the characters.
I received this book as a LibraryThing early review copy in return for an honest review.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Nice to have a courtroom drama from John Grisham again. His last couple of books I couldn’t get through. I had decided I was done reading his books, but I’m glad I gave this one a try.
There were a couple of things that didn’t quite make sense to me near the end. Otherwise a great story! He such a good storyteller.

I really liked the characters. The story was fast paced and enjoyable. There were quite a few editing issues that were irritating but not enough to detract from a delightful mystery.
I received this book as a LibraryThing early review selection. First, I don’t like the title. I don’t think it does justice to the depth of the story. It’s a quick read being only 204 pages, but it’s also a slow read. Not a lot of action but plenty of thinking and feeling. At times it was almost too sad to bear, but it’s also hopeful. While Hayden is lost in the early days of grief it is hard to imagine him ever emerging, but he does. He never stops grieving, but eventually goes on living and growing.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Slow start, but I ended up loving this book. Wonderful likable characters and a couple of clever twists, some I saw coming, others I didn’t.
Oh my gosh! This story started slowly. A mystery within a mystery. Two women, an older art historian and a much younger scientist and I think art restorer, find a manuscript written by Leonardo da Vinci’s apprentice. There mission is to authenticate the manuscript and get it published. Adventure and intrigue as they describe their mission and translate the manuscript. Once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. Also it is physically a beautiful book to hold and read.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. The action and suspense never let up in this scuba diving mystery, the first in a series. The descriptions are gorgeous but don’t take over the story. I knew nothing about diving, and now I know a little.
Fin Fleming has grown up in a research institute and on a research vessel. It’s a pretty sheltered upbringing so she doesn’t have friends her own age or know how to interact with peers. She’s almost unbelievably trusting. When it looks like she might have half siblings she wants so badly to like and trust them, even when they aren’t very likable or trustworthy. It gets her into situations that we can see from outside are not going to end well.
I’m looking forward to reading more books in the series. There are quite a few characters in the book so I don’t really feel I know any of them very well, and I’d like to.
Thank you to the author for giving me a copy of this book.

I almost wish there was even more tennis, but I loved the book. I couldn’t wait to pick it up each night. Loved Carrie’s father, and her eventual understanding of herself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s about a couple of recently retired baby boomers and their adult child. I could relate to almost all of it.
Some other reviews objected to the liberal leanings of the family; to me that’s who they are. Also, since 2017, Trump’s first term, when this story is taking place, to ignore political leanings would not feel real. The politics is not “in your face” but feels necessary to explain the characters and give them depth.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This story takes place in a tiny town in rural Minnesota in 2019. Trump is president, the pandemic hasn’t hit yet. The folks in the story are regular folks, people you might know. Some are Trumpers, some are liberal, some are quiet about their politics. Most are decent folks. Some are crooked. All are trying to get by in difficult times. It’s a story about politics, deception, addiction, Alzheimer’s and just folks. I loved it. I felt like I knew these people, in their imperfect perfection.
The binding on this early review copy was terrible and pages kept coming loose but it was still worth reading.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Read more than half, but it was boring to me and I often chose not to pick it up.
I received this book a while ago, and started it. But it didn't hold my interest so I picked up something else. I pickec it up again recently. It is kind of a slow start, and I didn't know where it was going or if I even liked the main character. And then it deepened and I was hooked. It's a story that made me think about life, and being alive. the character's are real and flawed and wonderful. At times it made me laugh out loud. It is not morbid, which is kind of what I was expecting. Such a sweet surprise of a story.

It's a sweet little book with clear messages, but it's not preachy.

Helpful for learning how to begin and some stitches, but I wasn’t excited about any of the projects. Pictures and clear instructions made it useful
What a fun book! Puzzles, codes, creepy technology, Japanese history, and an edge of the seat adventure. Written by a woman, it has reads very differently than other books written by men. Although there is some violence, it’s not gratuitous, and especially this story has heart.
I tried, I really did but this book was not only stupid but also offensive and it just kept getting worse. Not worth my time. I read just over half.
Wow! I raced through this courtroom thriller. It’s a story that should be far fetched, but on the eve of Inauguration Day 2025, it feels timely, believable, and scary! I loved it!
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I didn’t like this book as much others in the Lost and Found Series. This one was more romance and less mystery.
I mostly enjoyed reading Pearce Oysters. I learned a lot about Oyster farming which I found really interesting. I remember the Deepwater Horizon disaster/BP disaster, and I remember hearing about it's widespread effects as well as having an understanding that BP and others were covering up a lot of what was going on. This story details the devastation and ripple effects for one community and one family. in particular. It is at times hopeless, but we go on, don't we? Parts dragged for me. In particular, I don't need descriptions of sex, They don't advance the story or enhance it. Otherwise I would reccommend.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Really didn’t like this book. Especially the main character!
I found this book to be a slog. I loved The Midnight Library. I enjoyed The Humans. I was looking forward to this book. I liked the characters but the story just didn’t hang together for me
Not an easy read. I found it difficult to know the astronauts as I was never sure who was who.
I should have checked the publisher and then I would have known I would be bored. I just can’t get into hetero Christian romance. Surprise surprise!
I loved this book! Eleanor is pretty much my age, and has lived in the same historical context as I, even in New England. So the soundtrack of this story could be mine. (I am disappointed to say I cannot find Eleanor’s Playlist on Spotify) And the story bears so many similarities to my own story. It’s a story of love, family, forgiveness, hope. It’s very much about being a mother. It’s a messy, happy, sad story of a life lived. It was like sitting with a good friend whom I’ve known a long time.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I enjoyed this book. The five women’s stories rang true, but I would have appreciated a little more depth. I totally fit the demographic, interview me! There was no real talk of how it was supposed to be a time of freedom but how that felt for women and girls. We heard what happened but not how they felt. The discussions of feelings were more present day, not reflective. Still, a good read.
Thank you LibraryThing and Amy Virginia Evans.

I thought this would be short essays by different booksellers and librarians , telling their stories. It is their stories, but they are all told by the author, so you don’t hear their voices, you hear his. Because of this, the stories all kind of run together, sound the same, and it’s boring.
I was disappointed

Kind of a difficult book to read, as a mother. Being a mother is hard and Grace struggles. It’s so hard to watch. But I couldn’t help rooting for her, and feeling/understanding her pain.
Okay, I guess if your into high school romance and meanness but they’re in their twenties. I won’t be reading this series. Not my cup of tea
Another delightful romance by Jenny Colgan. As others have described, it's a great adventure story, with very subtle romance. A romance that's not a romance if you will. Loved the characters. A wonderful story!
I enjoy this series of Cape cod mysteries. The characters are people I would want to know, the romance is barely alluded to, and the stories are complex and entertaining. The only thing I question is the teacups hanging in the trees. We have way to much wind here for that to be feasible ! 😉
