This is was my first Star Wars novel that I've read, and I was not impressed. Being a big fan of the movies I was able to get through it, but I would not recommend this to somebody who does not know the Star Wars universe. I was intending to start my Star Wars novel reading experience with the Thrawn trilogy (which everybody recommends as some of the best Star Wars fiction), but decided to go with this book, as it was the first Star Wars fiction book written. It almost left me not wanting to go on reading Star Wars fiction. Let's see if Thrawn can do better.
Reading Spanish from the Golden Era is tough unless you do it all the time. I laughed out loud quite a few times, and it's and easy read to get through in a day, but reading it in old Spanish doesn't add much to the experience.
Excellent. Everything a Star Wars book should be. Re-affirmed my faith in Star Wars fiction after the disaster that "Splinter in the Mind's Eye" was. Looking forward to the rest of the series. I hope they are all this good.
I've learned that we as humans have progressed very little in 70 years.
The most interesting thing about this wonderful little read is the history lessons of where the kids come from and what their families suffered to get to where they ar now.
