I received this book as an Early Reviewer in February, lost it in my house (newborn -sleep deprived) and just found it again. I will add that I've been reading this series since the beginning so I knew I would love it! Yes, the book plays slightly into the cut/paste series format we all know, but why not? It's working! I feel like I waited a long time for this story( I did!) but it paid off in the end. If you haven't read the series though, please don't jump in here, this series is best if read from the beginning.

I was drawn into this book right away, who wouldn't be: wealth, time travel. I'm not always a fan of books of this ilk, too much fluff not enough believable plot. This book however was neither of those. I'd recommend this book for someone who likes believable mystery, but isn't afraid of a little plot either!

I have to say I had heard about mind maps a bit, but hadn't actually understand what they were until this spring when I stumbled across them again for a class. (I am currently a graduate student in getting my Masters in Library Science) As someone who struggles daily with the dichotomy between the organizational skills I want to have and the actuality of my hectic life, I love the idea of Mind Maps. After reading this book, I have actually suggested it to some of my classmates for reading. My only hesitation is that everything is very straightforward, and doesn't go as in depth as I would like. That being said, I can understand why the book is written the way it is, and that doesn't hinder my appreciation for it.

First off, let me say that I read The Birth of Venus and loved it so I was expecting a lot from this book. I can't say I was disappointed. This novel tells the story of the Borgia's, something that seems trendy right now. Not only is it exciting, but unlike much of the Borgia hype right now, the book is delightfully padded with historical information. As a former history major I can appreciate that. I will definitely add this book to my list of historical winners!
