As rjohara suggests over here (post 3), it would be useful to have a way to find threads that never got past their first message.
This would also find the posts not attached to any group (if they still happen) - these can't be replied to, but their author could get contacted via comments on the profile.

As per sunny suggestion in the 3small improvements topic - here's a list of more plaintive posts from new users:
(My suggestion for possibly fixing was ensuring every new account automatically joined a group like FAQ when their account was created).
