The authors of 'for" books on member recommendations don't link to authors. Instead, they link as illustrated by:

Which book(s) does this happen for? (And/or, are you on something other than the English side of LT?) I just tried this on Water for Elephants and the member recommendations work just fine.
3AnnaClaire
1. I use the English version of LT, since I really can't read any other language well enough to use a website in non-English.
2. This isn't something I spotted on the books, but on the list.

Ah. I see it now. For clarity's sake, here is a sample:
1. The Blood of Flowers: A Novel by Anita Amirrezvani
509 copies. 29 reviews. Average rating 3.9.
Recommended by pkw87 for The Lady and the Unicorn by Tracy Chevalier (Feb 3, 2009)
Clicking on "Tracy Chevalier" will get you to a similar page as the "Margaret Atwood" example above.
(Just to let you know, I am not a developer, I just like ask clarifying questions and help keep the topic alive so it isn't forgotten.)

That's it exactly.

It's still a problem. Really. Go here and click on some of the authors on the "Recommended by..." lines.

Thank you!

OK, can someone on The Staff say that this is at least on their radar already?!

Bump!
One more week and I might just have to resort to e-mail. Staff, I'm not asking you to fix it now, I'm just asking you to say you at least mean to get to it at some point.

Bump. Again.

I oughta threaten somebody with my double-pointeds or something. We can't seem to get anyone else's attention otherwise. ;)
17AnnaClaire
Double-pointed knitting needles: I thought their more common abbreviated form of "dpns" would be even less obvious. Here's a Google image search. I've heard of people successfully fighting off would-be muggers with the metal variety.

My seam-ripper is pretty nasty! ;-)

Let's get ourselves armed then, and see if we can enlarge our mob. In a few days we'll post an official warning somewhere (like a Staff member's profile). Then we take to the streets/pages.
25AnnaClaire
Bump.
This evening I might have to post a message on a Staff member's profile, with a link to this thread. I mean really, all I'm asking for is confirmation that you at least know this is a problem.

Don't you think Tim and Chris, one of whom probably has to fix this, have been busy with dealing with the mess the launch of the new catalog created? Give them some peace; this rude bumping is simply absurd.
27AnnaClaire
If you read what I've been saying, you'll see that I've been asking for them to do no more than say that they've seen this. I have no idea if they have or have not unless they say so. I don't expect an instant fix, and even said as much in this very thread several weeks ago.

I'm just responding to the posts of the last four days, which I think are completely overboard.

Quite. I've always wondered why there weren't any murder mysteries where this was the murder weapon. I would hesitate to use it in the garden myself, as I would be very likely to injure myself ... :-(

You can see the logic of how many of the Asian martial arts weapons evolved from farm implements.
35staffordcastle
Lots of Western weapons, too - think of the billhook, for example.
36AnnaClaire
Duly re-bumped (yet again already), per this post.
37conceptDawg
Quietly fixed.
