Hi! This is a request repost of http://www.librarything.com/topic/83160 from the group Bug Collectors.
Request: One should be able to search in topic titles.
Additional notes: I assume that the search from topic/83160 Message 9 will return only results where " post preview " is available as string with a SPACE before and a SPACE after it. I do not know the exact implementation and it might be that html syntax is considered as a delimiter equivalent to SPACE, possible DOT's, COMMAs etc. Caching might be an issue. (I susspected this because yesterday the search could not find itself for some hours.)
This is quite hard to trace. Lets consider the searches
1) search_talk: multiple spaces and
2) search_talk: multiple space
I was expecting that search 2) will find all results found also with search 1). This is not the case and I do not know how many users are aware of this behaviour.
Regards Reinhardt

It seans that caching is not an issue here. The searches could identify the present topic immediately.

Some notes on search: In order to find http://www.librarything.com/topic/9389 Topic: option to preview a post before submitting it It was necessary to go back 3300 topics . Maybe some would agree that actual search is "not the most efficiant way" to process information they have seen.
