I'm pretty sure this was a novel, not a memoir. A woman becomes the mistress of a German officer in WWII. She manages to rescue some of the Jews working in a factory, hiding them in her home. I think her boyfriend finds out at some point, but pretends not to be aware of it.
I think she was a Polish Gentile. Her father was killed because he would not step of a sidewalk for a German soldier.

It's memoir, so I'm not sure it's what you're looking for, but In My Hands sounds like it. Or maybe those who save us. Both are about women who are taken as a mistress, but I don't recall either one being about factories...
