OK,
I read this book in about 1994/1995. It is a chapter book about 2 kids (a boy and a girl) who find out that they can hear the things going on in each others' minds. They use this to communicate when they are in danger and stuff.
The only part of the book I remember is when one of them (I think the boy) gets stuck at the top of a ferris wheel and the girl talks to him (without speaking) or she likes sends him a mind message or something.
Help!

I think you are looking for Into the Dream.

Definitely "Into the Dream" by William Sleator. It has the boy and girl, and the ferris wheel incident. Plus a dog. :)

hmm, I will have to find that book! I read the back cover (online), but it doesn't say anything about the mind reading...but looks right!! Thanks for the quick help!!!

I swear, every book by William Sleator needs to be on that short "is this the book you're looking for" wiki.
That man has an amazingly disproportionate amount of people who remember just enough about his books to make them hard to find.
