YA teenage boy with a with for a mom

I read this book in the late 80s or as late as 1991. This was a YA novel about a teenage boy living in the city and he has a mom that is a witch. I think there was also an aunt he lived with that was a witch.

In the book the boy fell in love with a girl, and she may have been a dancer.

I also believe he had to conceal the fact that his mom was a witch.
